Lord We Lift Our Eyes To You

Written by Brian Douglas Berlin (1999)

Based on Psalm 123, David's intimate prayer for Israel is the focus of this simple, but stirring song. It reminds us of our need today to lay down sin and pride and lift up prayer in behalf of our land.

(Written in 4/4, the melody begins measure 4, beat 2.)

Lord, we lift our eyes to You.
On bended knee we come before You.
Lord, hear our cries.
We lift up our eyes,
To Your throne up in Heaven.

Lord, we lift our hearts to pray.
At the foot of Your altar we lay
Our sin and our pride.
We lift up our eyes,
To Your throne up in Heaven.

Have mercy on us, Oh Lord, have mercy on us!
Let your Light shine all across this land.
Deliver us from evil, into Your loving arms.
Lord, save us with Your mighty hand.

Lord, we lift our song in praise.
We will worship You all of our days,
As our anthems rise,
We lift up our eyes,
To Your throne up in Heaven.

Lord, we lift our eyes to You.
On bended knee we come before You.
Lord, hear our cries.
We lift up our eyes,
To Your throne up in Heaven.

Lord hear our cries.
We lift up our eyes...
To You.
